Key Marco Community Key Marco is located off the south east side of Marco Island. It is a separate island and is an upscale gated community of single family homes. There is a total of 134 homes sites on over 500 acres most of which is a nature preserve. Key Marco lies just across Barfield Bay from the estate area of Marco Island.
Beautiful views can be seen from many of the home sites due to the higher elevation of over 40ft above sea level, these hills are really mounds of shells put in place by the Calusa Indians over many centuries. It is a very scenic area where sightings of bob cats, panthers, raccoons and turtles are not uncommon along with a variety of native birds.
